pencil carving

Carved this on a pencil for one of my closest friends during my junior college.
Each word is connected to the next with exposed graphite and a connecting patch of wood beneath that graphite to prevent the graphite from breaking.

illustration friday: contagious

This is my sanskrit teacher at school a long time ago when i was  a primary school student who had one big problem, she yawned all day. She shamelessly yawned during the morning prayer, through lunch and while teaching in class, she probably yawned while she was asleep too. That contagious yawn of hers kept us all yawning all day.  This is how she probably looked when she often turned away from us towards the blackboard to hide herself as she yawned.

lambretta

Tribute to D'Ascanio, aeronautical engineer who designed the 1st production helicopter for Agusta also came up with the initial designs of a scooter, revolutionary handlebar gear change, engine above the rear wheel, "shield" to keep rider dry, a simple and robust design that's nothing short of genius.

Model made entirely of paper. 18 centimeters long, stands on a cardboard base. individual parts glued together at the end to make the scooter. Design inspired by lambretta designs. To be repainted due to its faded worn out look. better pics of the repainted one will replace this.
